about
The RedWest Creatives Co-op is a creative co-operative operating in Melbourne's west whose mission is to strengthen the arts sector. RedWest works to secure a variety of opportunities such as pop-up exhibitions and performances, events for artists, and by providing services to local artists for its members. Services include the auspice of grants, public liability insurance, advocacy and support in working with the local council, and providing access to networks and promotional opportunities.
In February 2018 the founding members gathered and on July 22nd RedWest was registered officially as RedWest Creatives Co-Op LTD. The first board of directors focused on "Calling Westside Creatives!" into action. The tagline itself a message for a Soiree to bring the Wyndham Arts Collective out of the digital sphere and into the physical. The Soirée for Incorrigible Creatives was held at Shadowfax winery as the first official membership drive and social event of it's kind for the area.
The legacy of the founding members will live strong as RedWest aims to grow its offerings to its members as the organisation grows to include services like an online gallery & storefront during its search for a permanent, physical home. Being primarily based in Wyndham for its first steps RedWest looks to broaden its reach to include more of the West in its journey forward.
We would like to acknowledge the RedWest founding directors forth their vision, commitment, and laying the foundation to build upon.
